You should be able to enter all of your 1099-R info now. Yours is the second post I've seen today with this same issue.

First, update your software using the instructions I'm linking below.

How do I update my TurboTax CD/Download software?

If you still have this difficulty, you may try what is called a "manual" update of the software. I'm linking those instructions below.

Thank you I managed to do the manual download (patch) of the 1099-R but have now come to a halt once again, after completing the Federal Return, I hit start on my free State Return, but going through the process I get a message "Waiting for the Installer Service" and nothing happens, I tried at different times over the last 2 days but the same message comes up every time. I am at a loss about what to do can can honestly say that after using Turbo Tax for the last 14 years this is the first time I have encounter problems with the software!.....Please let me know if I can manually download my state return?

@David1020 I am SO sorry! I've used TT for years, as well, and never encountered this. If you don't mind, please see if the FAQ I'm linking below does the trick. It sounds like it may, but one never knows. Fingers crossed!

Program says its up to date on start up and when requesting Online update after start up

@dbharry56 The IRA and 1099 retirement section is suppose to be ready on Jan 21, 2026. Keep checking for updates on 1/21 or later. They've been putting out more updates this year.
