      <description>&lt;P&gt;Sorry---the Form 1040 does not break it down that way.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;When you file a joint return the refund is based on all of your combined income and if you owe, the amount due is also based on your combined income.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;One thing you can look at the the self-employment tax---you are posting from Self-Employed---so that indicates that at least one of you has to pay self-employment tax for Social Security and Medicare as well as ordinary income tax.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
