My father passed away in February 2020 before I could file his 2020 return. He is due a federal and state refund for 2020. I would like to apply these refunds to his taxes for next year (2021) because he took his RMD for 2021 in January and he may have taxes due next year.

Turbotax would not let me efile his 2020 return nor did it give me the option to apply the refund for taxes due in 2021. Are either of these possible?
