Why didnt my second stimulous check come wih my federal return? turbo tax said it would?

i received the first stimulous check of 1200. dollars. the next check for 600. i did not because i changed bank accounts. turbo tax said it would come with federal return. it did not.

why?

I'm not sure how the free online edition works, but when you do the federal review it should start with a question about whether you received stimulus payments. Answer 'yes,' and it shows the amounts of each you were eligible for and asks if you received them. If you never received the second one, answer 'no' and it should then add the $600 amount to your refund. Look at line 30, recovery rebate credit, on your Form 1040, and it should have the $600 credit there. If you owed rather than having a refund, the $600 would be applied to that, reducing what you owe.

If you've already received your federal income tax refund and it didn't include your stimulus payment (Recovery Rebate Credit), only the IRS knows why they didn't send it. Generally, you'll get a letter from the IRS explaining why you didn't get you whole refund.

You can contact the IRS. The telephone number is 1-800-829-1040. Expect long phone wait times since it is tax season.

If you are qualified for it, EIP is put in under "amounts already paid".

then the regular calculation is done to decide if you owe IRS or get a refund.

The check would not be sent separately.
