Why did Turbotax Premier treat me LLC in California Tax Return? Where did I check to fix this?

TurboTax will prompt you to fill out Form 568 if you have an Employer Identification Number for your California business.

If your LLC meets one or more of the following conditions:

Doing business in California
Registered with the Secretary of State

Then your LLC must:

Pay the $800 annual tax

By the 15th day of the 4th month after the beginning of the current tax year.
Use Limited Liability Company Tax Voucher (FTB 3522)

Estimate and pay the LLC fee

By the 15th day of the 6th month after the beginning of the current tax year.
Use Estimated Fee for LLCs (FTB 3536)

File Limited Liability Company Return of Income (Form 568) by the original return due date.

If your LLC files on an extension, refer to Payment for Automatic Extension for LLCs (FTB 3537)

If you have income or loss inside and outside California, use Apportionment and Allocation of Income (Schedule R) to determine California source income.

I do not have the Employer Identification Number and have not had the Employer Identification Number for the entire of my life. My income tax situation is exactly as the same as over the last 10 years, and I have never experienced this situation until this year. I can not explain this situation at all unless Turbotax has a system error this year. I believe that somebody should check the Turbotax system error.

Please review your initial questions on your business to be sure you did not answer a question incorrectly stating that your business was a single member LLC.

On the CA Business Summary, it asks you to select edit beside any business that was a single member LLC. Check to see if you did that. That would generate the LLC for your CA return.
