I worked with a tax expert and we filed my return electronically and I found an error

How can i correct my return I just submitted. I found an error when I was reviewing the form submitted for the state.

You can use the Menu option on the left of the screen and the Tax Topics Menu on the top to navigate through your return. You can also use the search icon on the top.

The return had already been submitted and accepted by the state. The software did not pick up the change that was made on Federal (when working with a turbo tax expert) and transfer it to the state form, therefore my state is incorrect. I noticed after we filed as was told if the information would transfer from Federal to state and if it did not when we ran the check for errors it would come up. We ran check for errors and the error did not come up - but there is an error !

Before you amend, make sure everything is done. Sometimes the states are catching mistakes and adjusting.

Once your original return is accepted and the finances are settled, you can file an amended return.

Save a copy of the original return before doing an amended return. See:
Pay additional tax. Taxpayers who will owe more tax should file Form 1040-X and pay the tax as soon as possible to avoid penalties and interest. They should consider using IRS Direct Pay to pay any tax directly from a checking or savings account for free.
