I would like the premier version sold at Costco to include a free state file . I am unhappy that I paid $20 to have my return e filed to the state. Last year,, I did not want to pay the $20 and filed with the state for free and they allowed me to make automatic payment from my checking account. So this year , I paid $20 AND still have to contact the state to set up my auto payments. Turbo tax you can do better in the future

Read the packaging more carefully. It tells you that there is a fee to e-file a state return. The software included the program to prepare returns for one specific state but there has always been an extra fee in the CD/download software for e-filing the state return. It is easy to avoid that extra state e-filing fee by printing and mailing the state return.
