I found this out trying to get a replacement card, will this affect my taxes. I tried filling the IRS form on line but couldn’t get it to fill out. Should I file my form

some states are having a problem correcting their records to reflect that you actually received $0. did you get a 1099-G? if not perhaps your state fixed the problem. you can call them to verify this unless they already sent you notification. if they sent the correct info to the IRS this should be a problem. however, you were a victim of identity theft. someone may have already filed a return using your SSN. you'll find this out when you try to e-file. it will be rejected. you might see rejection code R0000-932-02. in that case all you can do is paper file and include form 14039 identity theft affidavit.

IRS says:
you should contact your UI division and they should issue to you a corrected 1099-G showing zero as soon as possible.
