*.tax file missing / deleted after update

So once again the same issue has occurred. I started my 2020 return, saved it over and over and then today after an update - it is gone. Searched entire HD using wildcards - nope - gone. Why hasn't his been corrected by TT??

I found this warning

" Always remember to shut off the auto update function once you have filed your returns and do not do any updates unless you have safeguarded the PDF & .taxfiles to a removable storage unit for safekeeping. Click on ONLINE then Update Preferences.... don't be afraid to click on all the menu headings to find all the goodies that are hiding. "

how do i recover the tax file that was deleted by my update this morning?

That would have been good to KNOW!...BUT, I saved the tax file on a thumbdrive that, sadly, I didn't remove... thinking TurboTax would keep to "THEIR FOLDER", but instead turbotax Maliciously Fondled" every source of "MY COMPUTER" and removed my backup file. What's yur answer to that?????
