The IRS does not notify you when they receive a mailed return, but you can check on the progress of the refund at the link below. For mailed returns, the IRS recommends checking the refund status at 4 weeks.

I mailed my return on 2/1/18 and the where's my refund tool is showing 3 bars with one lit as return received as of 2/8/18. I paid for next day delivery though.
