Why do you want your 2018 AGI? You cannot e-file a 2019 return if that is why you are asking for it. A 2019 return cannot be e-filed. It must be printed, signed and mailed---and you do not need the 2018 AGI to do that. If you just recently prepared a 2019 return ---- it had better have been by using 2019 software and not the current online program. Online is only for 2020 returns.

I needed the AGI to file 2019 return and I've been trying to get it since last tax year. So I haven't been able to file 2019 return. I tried to do it with the information I had here and it was rejected. So I didn't know how to do it. And still don't know how to file 2019 and how do I file 2020 now without an AGI number from 2019?

@Bclass It is too late to e-file a 2019 return. E-filing for 2019 closed in October. The only way to file a 2019 return now is by mail. Print, sign it in ink and mail it in. The AGI no longer matters since you are not e-filing.

Going forward----if/when you run into this problem---use zero for the AGI or print sign and mail the return instead of getting derailed for months and not filing the return.

When it asks for your 2019 AGI to e-file 2020, try using zero. If zero does not work then you have to print, sign and mail 2020.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
