So I filed my 2020 tax return. My ex and I have shared custody of our one child. She claimed him on her 2019 tax return per our agreement and received the stimulus benefits for him this past year. When I filed my 2020 return, I claimed him and it said in eligible for the stimulus relief payments so that was added onto my refund. I dont think there was anywhere to put those have been received by someone else prior and it added that to my tax breaks and or refund. Is this okay? Thanks for any help it feels like its a double dipping even though I personally didn't get relief for my child someone else did based off thr 2019 filing status.

You have entered correctly per the current guidelines. You will enter on your 2020 tax return that you claim the child and you did not receive a child stimulus payment in 2020.
