You cannot change your banking information for 2019 once your return has been accepted & processed. When you file your 2020 return, you can change your bank information when you go through the steps to file your return.

After the Other Tax Situations section of the 2020 TurboTax program you will be asked about the stimulus payment received or not received in 2020.

After you asked about the stimulus payment & you qualify, you will get the Recovery Rebate Credit (stimulus) on the 2020 federal tax return, Form 1040 Line 30.

If the banking information on your 2019 return is incorrect, then you will automatically switched to receiving a check in the mail. The IRS may or may not offer a portal for tax payers to update their information but so far no information has been given out.

due to the risk of fraud, the IRS doesn't permit changes to banking information: this is the IRS FAQ

No. To help protect against potential fraud, the tool does not allow people to change direct deposit information already on file with the IRS.

If we issue a direct deposit and the bank information is invalid or the bank account has been closed, the bank will reject the deposit. We will then mail your Payment as soon as possible to the address we have on file for you, and we will update Get My Payment to reflect the date your payment will be mailed. Typically, once the payment is mailed, it will take up to 14 days to receive the payment, standard mailing time.

I have tried countless times to provide you with updated credit card info AT YOUR REQUEST by phone and on-line in order to get my TT Deluxe software for 2022. I am quite frankly tired of this effort. If you would like for me to continue being a customer(since inception of TT Software) You can Email me @ srbagby@verizon.net or call me @ [phone number removed](leave a message if no one home) or give me a TelNo. where I can talk to a LIVE Person. Otherwise I guess you don't want to be bothered and I will cease to be your customer. If your product wasn't superior I would have told you along time ago how utterly inferior your ordinary customer service is and always has been. @srbagbytaxaccount The TurboTax software for tax year 2022 in not yet available. The 2022 desktop editions will be available in mid-November 2022 and the online edition is early December 2022.
