topic How to merge 8582 filed by CPA to Turbotax 2019 before using filing 2020 in Get your taxes done using TurboTax

I was using TurboTax 2019, however, I forgot to file the rental property depreciation in 2017 tax return, so I asked a CPA to file my 2019 tax with an amendment to fix this. The overall tax filed by CPA is the same as what I did using TurboTax 2019 except form 8582, which addressed my 2017 tax return issue.

I would like to use TurboTax 2020 to do my 2020 tax return. Here is my question:

I think I would need to merge the update of the 8582 from my CPA to TurboTax 2019, so that this passive loss will be carried-over in my 2020 Return.

If I am correct in #1, where could I "merge" the update my CPA did in 8582 (to address the missing passive loss in 2017) to TurboTax 2019?

Thanks

If you don't already have the 2019 downloaded program you can skip the "merge" and simply make the entry in the 2020 return. Look for these screens in the rental section and then verify the info went to the 8582 when you look at the forms later ...

Thanks. I have 2019 downloaded program on Mac. It would be good to "correct" the return 2019 program, then it will be automatically pulled to 2020 program.

However, if it is not "feasible" to fix the 2019 program (or too much work), I will follow your suggestion to make the entry in 2020 program.
