This page with title "Minimum system requirements for TurboTax Mac software" mentions that TurboTax 2020 is supported on macOS Mojave 10.14 or later

But this community Q&A mentions that

If you have a Mac computer, you can use the online edition of TurboTax.

If you purchased TurboTax as a download or on a CD, you can request a refund of your TurboTax purchase. The CD/download edition of TurboTax doesn’t work on Mac computers.

Can someone clarify whether the macOS CD/Download option from retailers will work on macOS or not?

The 2020 CD/download will work on Macs running OSX 10.14 or later.

If you have OSX 10.13 or earlier then you can use the online version that only requires a compatible browser such as Safari or Firefox and others.

All the Desktop CD/Download programs need the same System Requirements no matter where you bought it.

The Online web version that you log into has different requirements. See them here,

Never saw that Mac FAQ before. It's a year old and does not make sense. We need to report it to the moderator.

OH! That FAQ is for Canada Turbo Tax. See the url ends in .ca . Are you in Canada? This is the USA forum. We don't know Canada.
