November is not over yet and the online site still says PRE ORDER on this page ... it will be released for download sometime soon if the past is to be followed. https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/

Although the beta versions of the program come out early they are not fully functional until sometime late January at best and many forms including the state programs are not complete until late Feb or sometime in March. The IRS efile start date is still TBD however in the last couple of years they have not opened until very late in January .

Hmmmm.....one thing to note though...if you are a member of TTX's Advantage auto-purchase system

When exactly did you sign up/register for a TurboTax Advantage account?

1) Those who newly signed up some time before November, should already have been charged for the 2020 software, and downloads should be available soon (if not already).

2) Those folks who first sign up/register for TTX Advantage right now (around 9 Nov...but the date is a bit uncertain)...those folks may only be signing up to get the 2021 software next November, and they would have buy their 2020 software on the single-purchase page.

The exact cutoff date for new "Advantage" user sign-ups being able to get the 2020 software as a part of their Advantage registration, is a bit uncertain to me, and may need confirmation from Customer Support, but I'm pretty certain that date has passed.

When can I expect to receive my TurboTax Advantage order?

TurboTax Advantage orders start processing early November and CDs are shipped by mid-November. Check your order status here.

If you ordered TurboTax on a CD, you also get a downloadable version for both Windows and Mac. To access your download, sign in to your TurboTax Advantage account and look for My Downloads.
