I host cloud storage space online for friends and family. How do I collect and send sales tax for there monthly subscriptions? How do I file this other income?

I am not a registered business. I host an online cloud storage space for friends and family. It isn’t a public business. They do pay me a recurring subscription monthly. Do I need to charge sales tax? If so, where do I send the collected sales tax? Where can I find how much sales tax to charge? Also, how do I report this as other income on my tax return? What information do I need to provide on the tax return about what cloud service I provided to them? Any help is appreciated and if I need a paid plan for an answer I am willing to go that route on turbo tax.

You do not have to have "registered" business to have self-employment income. You report your self-employment income on your tax return along with any other income you received, And you will need to prepare a Schedule C for your business expenses. You will pay self-employment tax for Social Security and Medicare.

Sorry, this is not an answer to your question, but you may be able to help me.

I cannot find an answer on TurboTax. I've bee filing with TT since 2014, first was by dvd, rest by downloads.

I have them on an old computer and want to put the files and TT software on the cloud.

Is this possible and how do I do it. I downloaded the old files to a thumb drive, but I don't think

the programs came with them.

The return pdf's will be able to be stored on the cloud, but the software does not store on the cloud.

You can view all your software downloads in the My Downloads section in your Turbo Tax account. @jkellio2
