You were misinformed. When you use online TurboTax there is a separate fee for the state. You are posting from Deluxe which is $60 for federal and $50 for state.

Hi, you were partially correct. One state program is free with the purchase of the Turbo Tax program.

When it comes to filing, the Federal is free but, the state is $24.99.

you may always print the state and mail it in for the cost of a stamp and envelope.

Yes, I was going to say the same thing as the mbm3M: what is FREE is that you are able to use Turbo Tax to fill out the State form with the Federal form, but you have to pay the $24.99 to file it electronically, or like the other member said, you could always file it by mail! At first I was surprised too, but I just finished filing about a half an hour ago and am hoping that my time stamp of 7/16 will be okay since I just missed the 7/15 deadline! 🙂
