1099 -r box codes

your 1099-r box codes do not match my actual 1099 box codes. Example your box 1 title is rent. My income is from military pension not rent. My box 2 is taxable income, your box 2 is royalties. What the hell is going on here and why bo boxes have title that do not match real 1099 titles?

Those are for a 1099G or 1099Misc screen. You are in the wrong place. You have a 1099R. Back out of this screen (maybe delete the one you started) and go to the 1099R

Enter a 1099R under
Federal on left
Wages & Income at top
Then scroll way down to Retirement Plans and Social Security,
Then IRA, 401(k), Pension Plans (1099R) - click Start or Update

If you get the screen of partners you can import from click the bottom circle for I'll type it in myself - Continue
The next screen should be What Type of 1099R is this? With 4 choices. Pick the right kind you have.
And on the same screen you pick which person it is for if you are married.

I made you a screen shot. The second one shows the entry screen. The boxes should match your 1099R.
