There should be an X in the upper right hand corner of the search box to close it.

I suggest that you log out and back in if it is not there.

The dialog box wanting me to choose encoding or no encoding has no X at the top and I cannot scroll down far enough to see an action button so the dialog box stays open and I cannot quit Turbo Tax. I had this program with the iMac dialog box for printing, and discovered that clicking on a the lowest line on the page would reveal the rest of the page. That does not happen with Turbotax.

So I can better assist you, please answer the following questions:

Are you using TurboTax Online or the CD/Desktop software?
What type of computer are you using, Windows or Mac?
If you are using Turbotax Online, which browser are you using (Chrome, Safari, Firefox...etc.)?
Where in the program are you seeing this dialogue box?

...almost sounds like they're on a phone...with such a limited screen area, it's very tough to do anything.
