Open the file in Excel and resave as .csv. (Even if it is already a .csv) and then re-upload.

did not solve the issue. Original file that robinhood has to download is not a CSV file... I was eventually able to get it as a TXT file and reformatted as CSV in Excel. Everything looks good in Excel but it still doesn't work and gives me validation error.

Just solve the issue with Robinhood CSV file and Turbo Tax.

Robinhood essentially give a TXT file that you need to upload to Excel and convert it into columns.

each column has to have a title ie.

Clumn A Clumn B Column C Column D Column E Column F

Service Asset name Date of purhase Cost basis Date of sale Proceeds

Robinhood Dodge 05/23/2019 200.02 05/24/2019 201.24

and so on and so forth

Unfortunately I am still getting the validation error after renaming the file to .csv. and re-uploading.

Has anyone found a solution to this validation error problem? I'm getting the same problem when trying to upload my CSV file from Robinhood......

I really don't want to manually upload all of my transactions (250+)

You have the option to summarize your transactions by Sales Category.

IRS requires details to be listed on Form 8949,
or on your own forms (e.g. consolidated 1099-B) which have the same information and in the same manner as Form 8949.
Either way, if you choose to summarize, you have to mail the transaction details to the IRS within three business days of IRS accepting your e-Filed tax return.(unless you have attached a PDF of the transactions details to your e-Filed return. TurboTax does not offer this feature).
Exception: if you summarize Category A or Category D, Form 8949 is not needed for transactions without adjustments. No mailing is necessary.

It sounds like you do not have a 1099-B in which case you don't have Category A or D.

Edit your csv to add a column title row identifying the items from Form 8949. Recommended to rearrange columns in the order shown on Form 8949.

Also put your Name and SSN.

Use the Summary option to enter your subtotals.

After you enter the subtotals, follow the "mailing instructions" for how to file correctly.

Your return will still have Forms 8949 to e-File but they will have subtotals instead of each individual transaction.

I tried and still getting same issue
