Missing return files

Using Turbo Tax (Deluxe), I filed taxes for a friend and his brother. They have the same last name and their first name begins with the same letter. I just went looking for the brother's taxes and could not find them. Since the tax2019 file would be the same name, is there a problem with Turbo Tax keeping them both? Any suggestions on how I might recover this tax return? Or am I just out of luck. Seems like a design flaw.

That is a problem. Yes it overwrote the prior ones. So they are probably gone.

You have to save each return with different names so you can tell them apart. Like if your name is John and your son is also named John it will save them with the same name so the second one will overwrite the first return. So you have to go to File-SaveAs and give it a unique name.
