Did you buy it from TurboTax-shop or through Intuit TurboTax? I think TurboTax-shop might be a scam. There are lots of grammatical errors throughout the site and I think only accepting Mastercard and paypal is a red flag. I need 2017 and 2018 and started to buy through the "shop" website but when my Visa credit card was declined I found the payment options showing just Mastercard and paypal. That's when I started looking around the site and found all of the grammatical errors. I can't afford $120 for each year from Turbo Tax so was trying other options but I don't want my identity or credit card info stolen from a fake site. I'm still checking around so thought maybe that was the problem with your download.

TurboTax only distributes to well known 3rd party resellers, such as Costco, BestBuy, Staples, Amazon (Amazon itself, not 3rd party advertisers on Amazon), etc. If a website not connected to such a store then it is probably a fraud selling bootlegged software that can contain malware and steal your CC information.

To purchase directly from Intuit/TurboTax online, the only valid website is https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

Make ****SURE**** you select the link for the specific tax year you need. After you pay for it, you can then download the installation file. After download, double-click the installation file to install it on your windows computer.

NOTE: Make sure you pay for the correct version, be it MAC or WINDOWS. If you buy the wrong one, you own it.
