My wife receives difficulty in care payments for providing in home care for my disabled son. The W-2 she receives is blank for Box 1 because these payments are excluded from federal income taxes in accordance with IRS Notice 2014-7. However, the blank Box 1 prevents electronic filing of our return. Is there any way to avoid this electronic filing rejection?

Thanks but I rechecked the W-2 and 0.00 was entered in Box 1. I also checked the error I got in Turbo Tax and it says that I can't e-file because Box 1 is blank or the value entered is less than $1.00.

If there is no other easy way, perhaps the best way to go is to list the income in Box 1 and then back it out on line 8 of Schedule 1.
