Amended Return - Col A Question

I filed my 2019 return two weeks ago. I realized that I made a small omission and need to amend it. I created a 1040-X in Turbo Tax forms and noticed, before making any changes, that my 1040-X, Col A numbers do not match what was reported in the filed return. What is the logic of this?

It depends.

The amounts due or refunded will change based upon the changes you make as you amend your return.

What you will need to do is input all of your changes, and then look at forms, the numbers in column a should match your return as originally filed.

If it does not, you may need to cancel the amended return and start the process again.
