I noticed the instructions on Turbo Tax said that state filing e-file costs 19.99, but when I was taken to the site to pay the fee it had changed to 24.95. My guess is that this is the charge you are seeing.

Yes there was a price increase on March 1. The early discounted prices expired. The Desktop State efile fee went from 19.99 to 24.99 as it does every year so most of us know to efile before then. Or you can print and mail state for free. The CD box says prices subject to change.

But that is for the Desktop CD/Download program. The original post above seems to be about something else and about the Online version which is totally different than the Desktop program.

I figured it out

To use the turbo tax debit card (green dot card) they charge you a month fee of 4.95 a month even if not using it. Like me

which I think it is wrong. I should have read the small print a lot better
