It is best to use the same program that you efiled the federal tax return with ... if you change to the TT program you must complete the federal return AGAIN in order to populate the state return AND the state return MUST be mailed in ... it cannot be efiled. AND you will need to pay the TT fees for the federal & state programs.

No. When you use TurboTax the information flows from the federal return to the state return. TT cannot be used to prepare a "stand alone" state return. Try going on your state's tax web site -- you might be able to file there or get the forms to prepare by hand. You will need a copy of your federal return in front of you.
