If you cannot delete the entry on the free product, perhaps you can delete the entire return and start over and enter the information in the proper place on the next go.

If you have not paid or registered your return you can use the clear and start over feature of TurboTax to delete your return.

You can also try to delete Form 1099-Misc by following the directions below in TurboTax Online:

Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools.
In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
Select Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet in the list and follow the instructions.

Alternatively, you can follow the directions below:

While in your return, type 1099-misc in the Search box and then select the Jump to link. This will take you directly to the 1099-MISC Summary screen. Select Edit or Delete next to the 1099-MISC you want to change or delete.

If you’re deleting a 1099-MISC, answer Yes when you’re asked to confirm the deletion.
