You cannot deduct this as a personal expense. However, you can claim this as a deduction if the property is a rental property. Alternatively, if you are deducting home office expenses for self-employment, you can deduct a proportionate part of the pest control expenses. This will be considered an indirect expense in the case of a home office.

To enter this expense in TurboTax Online:

Under Income & Expenses (tab at the top of your screen), click Review next to Self-employment income and expenses (this assumes that you have already entered your self-employed income).
1. Click Review again next to the specific self-employed activity and scroll down to the Expenses category.
2. Click Review next to Home office.
