I am a long time TurboTax user. Have used "Home&Business". We no longer need the "business" side. Will "Deluxe" still import all of the personal information?

Yes. All the Desktop programs have the same forms. You just get more help and guidance in the higher versions.

Assuming you have a live version of TurboTax look for the live help button in the lower right corner of your TurboTax screen. Here are more options if you have other TurboTax versions (mobile for example).

I sold my house in 2019 with a considerable gain and am evidently subject to AMT. TurboTax asked for the home office depreciation which was $3,500.00. Then it asked me for the AMT depreciation. What is the answer to AMT depreciation?

It may be the same number as regular depreciation. According to the instructions for 6251.

For property placed in service after 1998, if the 200% declining balance (DB) MACRS method is used for regular tax purposes, depreciation must be recalculated for AMT purposes using 150% DB MACRS. The difference between regular depreciation and this redetermined amount is an income adjustment subject to inclusion in Alternative Minimum Tax Income (AMTI).

For all other property placed in service after 1998, the depreciation method is the same for regular tax and AMT purposes.

The IRS website should be up in a couple of days.

The IRS is preparing Websites to update information and check your filing status. It is expected to be completed in mid-April.

Please read what it says on the right hand side where it says “Filers: Get Your Payment”

Did you efile? Was it Accepted?

Did you go all the way through the File tab, through the 3 steps and hit the big orange Transmit Returns Now button?

You can check your efile status here

When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.

When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. What does it say?
