To apply your Federal refund to 2020 Taxes:

Log in to your return.
Go to Federal Taxes.
Go to Other Tax Situation.
Scroll down to Additional Tax Payments and click show more.
Scroll down to Apply Refund to Next Year and click Revisit.

This answer is unclear because it doesn't tell me where to find the "go to Other Tax Situation". Intuit should make this easy to find since they don't have a checkbox or a reference on the tax form where the issue occurs. This answer did not help me at all because of this.

Once you click on Federal on the left side of the online program screen, you click on Other Tax Situations on the top of the online program screen.

To add, change or delete a current year federal tax refund to next year's taxes before you file your tax return -

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Other Tax Situations
Under Additional Tax Payments
On Apply Refund to Next Year, click on the start or update button

Or enter apply federal refund to next year in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to apply federal refund to next year

The amount applied to next years taxes will be shown on Form 1040 Line 22
