    <description>&lt;P&gt;As an active investor, be aware that your category Box A sales without adjustments do not require Form 8949, so there is no reason to import or key in those transactions.&lt;BR /&gt;instead use the "enter a summary" option to put your numbers on Schedule D Line 1a.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;---&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;IRS requires details to be listed on Form 8949,&lt;BR /&gt;or on your own forms (e.g. consolidated 1099-B) which have the same information and in the same manner as Form 8949.&lt;BR /&gt;Either way, if you choose to summarize, you have to mail the transaction details to the IRS within three business days of IRS accepting your tax return.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Exception&lt;/STRONG&gt;: if you summarize Category A or Category D, Form 8949 is not needed for t&lt;U&gt;ransactions without adjustments&lt;/U&gt;. No mailing is necessary.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;---&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you have wash sales, it gets more complicated since those adjusted transactions have to be itemized on Form 8949 and the summary totals adjusted accordingly.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;enter the wash sales on Form 8949, then use the subtotal results on the bottom of that form to know how much to subtract. Be sure to NOT check the adjustments box in the summary window.&lt;BR /&gt;--&lt;BR /&gt;Alternatively, if entry of Wash Sales is too tedious,&lt;BR /&gt;summarize and check the box for adjustments and enter the disallowed amount.&lt;BR /&gt;The summary will go on Schedule D 1b.&lt;BR /&gt;You will be making the mail-in election.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The forms are available on Betterment's website, but the import to TurboTax is not. They were supposed to be available to import today 2/18, but I'm getting an error stating ""there isn't any tax-related information to import ." TurboTax and Betterment need to get this sorted out. I'm not typing in all of that info.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Same problem. Unable to connect with customer support from either Betterment or TurboTax. Just receiving the same error message, "no info available to import right now," even though it's successfully connecting via the app password. Terrible service.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I’ve tried my basic password and an app specific password but neither is working. &amp;nbsp;I keep getting an error message stating that "&lt;SPAN&gt;This import was unsuccessful."&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Manual input would be a nightmare given the number of transactions so hopefully they’re still working on the integration.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes, I did. I created a specific app password for TurboTax. At first I tried logging in with my normal password and received this error: "Betterment: Unsuccessful sign on request. Please ensure your credentials are correct and try again. If you have two-factor authentication enables, please use an App Password generated on the Settings &amp;gt; Security page in your Betterment account."&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So I went and created an app password. Then I get this error when entering it successfully in TurboTax: "This import was unsuccessful. There isn't any tax-related info to import right now. No problem - we'll help you enter the information and continue with your return."&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;No problem is an understatement. Please help TurboTax! Not the only ones running into this issue. Several on Reddit and other sources also replying about this issue.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

I've created an app password for Betterment and I'm getting the error "This import was unsuccessful. There isn't any tax-related info to import right now.       <description>&lt;P&gt;Having the same issue for me and my wife.&amp;nbsp; I've created an app password but still getting a message that there is no data to import.&amp;nbsp; Betterment support says it's an Intuit issue.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Thank you for reaching out. &lt;/EM&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;EM&gt;We've heard similar reports about this issue from customers using the desktop version of Turbo Tax, and are currently working diligently with Intuit to get this issue solved. For now, according to Intuit, customers should take the following troubleshooting steps before contacting their support:&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;EM&gt;1. Temporarily disable any firewall, spyware blockers, or virus protection on your computer;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;EM&gt;2. Clear the cache and history from your web browser.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;EM&gt;3. Restart your computer, then try importing your tax forms again.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;EM&gt;We've heard from a few customers that signing into the online version of Turbotax Premier, transferring your Betterment tax forms there, saving the tax return file and opening it in the Desktop version (with all the data added) will work. However, these aren't official troubleshooting steps from TurboTax.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;EM&gt;If none of this works, we recommend reaching out to Turbo Tax support directly so they can open a case for you. Please let us know if you have any additional questions!&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I've already done a significant portion of my return on the computer.&amp;nbsp; Does anyone know if you do it online and import into the thick client if you're required to start over or if it will import as a TXF file?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Here are the steps:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- Fix the integration issue with Betterment&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- Test it to see if it works&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- Tell everyone here that it's fixed - follow prompts&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- If TurboTax can't fix it, or has no intention to, let us know so we can get a refund&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Use the same instructions for the online and install version.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Last, I have the install version, not online.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;**Say "Thanks" by clicking the thumb icon in a post&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I already posted: it’s impractical to enter 250-1000 transactions manually. Tired of getting the same bad suggestions from TurboTax.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have a better idea: TurboTax, fix the import problem!&lt;/P&gt;</description>
