      <description>&lt;P&gt;One doesn't have to work to have taxable income. If you received any taxable income in 2016 in excess of $6300, you need to file a return. Otherwise, it's optional. If less than $6300, the only reason to file would be to get any withheld taxes refunded to you.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
