My son will be on my return for the year I can claim him, but he's not listed on the years I don't claim him. The reason I am concerned, is because I remember putting his info into turbotax like I do every year. Why isn't his name on the actual return? Is this automatic? Since he doesn't qualify me for exemptions for the year I don't claim him? This helps with the next year you do claim them. It does seem a bit iffy at first but is such a common situation that nobody questions the year to year changes.
