    <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;B&gt;&lt;I&gt;No&lt;/I&gt;&lt;/B&gt;, you can't claim her as a dependent. &lt;B&gt;&lt;I&gt;You would want to file a joint return with her&lt;/I&gt;&lt;/B&gt;- she doesn't need income to file a return with you. (I am assuming she is not the qualifying dependent of someone like a parent)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Your spouse is either your joint return spouse or you file separately. They are never listed on the return as a dependent.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
