      <description>But a lot of times people say ssi when they really mean SS or SSDI.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;They are not the same thing.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;If you got a SSA-1099 for it you have to enter it and up to 85% of it may be taxable.</description>

      <description>Yes you have to enter the SSA-1099 for him on your Joint return.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;The ones for the children only go on their returns if they have other income to report. If that is all they have then nobody reports theirs.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If he got a SSA-1099it is not ssi.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;You don’t get a ssa-1099 for ssi, only for regular SS and SSDI.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;To enter the SSA-1099 Try going to the search box by My Account and type in SSA-1099 or Social Security Benefits.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;That will give you a Jump To link to take you directly to it. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;OR&lt;BR /&gt;Enter a SSA-1099, SSA-1099-SM or RRB-1099&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;under &lt;BR /&gt;Federal Taxes on the left side&lt;BR /&gt;Wages and Income &lt;BR /&gt;Then scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security&lt;BR /&gt;Social Security (SSA-1099. RRB-1099) - click the Start or Update button</description>
