Form 5884-A is for Credits for Affected Disaster Area Employers (see here).

Form 5884-A is not supported by TurboTax.

I have data (which is erroneous data) that is coming into my Form 3800, which is apparently originating from Form 5884-A. I understand that 5884-A isn't created in Turbo Tax. But, I never created 5884-A. And Turbo Tax can't.

So, how is Form 3800 getting this data from 5884-A (a form that I didn't create, and Turbo Tax can't create)?

I have to delete this data (which is an error) coming into 3800 so that the business credit on 3800 doesn't get calculated. But I can't delete the 3800 form, nor can I delete the info listed on Form 3800, nor can I find the 5884-A form that is bringing this data into 3800. This is surreal, and incredibly frustrating!

Please help if you can. Thanks.

that's the Work Opportunity Credit

it can come form K-1

Partnership line 15 code J

S-Corp line 13 code J

these flow to form 3800 PART III line 4b

as best as I can tell from form 3800 instructions the 5884-A would not be required.

Your note was my ticket out of the mess I was in - having Form 3800 appear in my return that shouldn't. In 2021, My S Corp received an ERC for qualified wages due to Covid. I was mistakenly listing this ERC in Box 13 of 1120s Schedule K1, code P "Employee Retention Credit". I now understand that that was a problem because that is NOT where the "Covid Wages ERC" should be listed. The ERC for box 13 of K1 is meant for certain natural disasters, which are specifically listed, and doesn't include the Covid wages ERC.

That erroneous entry on Box 13 on Sch. K1 was generating the Form 5884-A, and thus Form 3800. I couldn't get the 3800 deleted until I deleted the mistake on Box 13 on K1.

Having deleted the Sch. K1, box 13 entry, everything else cleared itself up, resulting in no Form 3800 appearing.

Whew!
