I received another w-2 that i forgot to add in my tax return how do i edit to add the new one i received

Do not make any changes to your original filed return. In order to an additional W-2, you need to amend your return. The amendment form (1040X for Federal) is not available to the end of February or later. You will have to wait until then to amend your return to add the additional W-2. Amended returns must be mailed, they cannot be e-filed.

If you used TurboTax Online, simply log in to your account and select “Amend a return that was filed and accepted.” If you used our CD/download product, sign back into your return and select “Amend a filed return.” You must file a separate Form 1040X for each tax return you are amending.

If your Federal amendment changes your State, you would then have to amend your state return.

Ok I understand, I did do both because of that change ... it’s been over 16 weeks I feel. I have the paper work just didn’t know who to speak with for it

@Show555 The IRS is not processing any mailed in returns (original or amended) at this time. Once they open back up fully, they will start processing mailed in returns. It will be a little while. You can keep checking the IRS website Where's My Amended Return? tracking tool.

Processing times for amended state returns vary from state to state. If it's been more than 12 weeks since you mailed your amended state return, and you haven't heard anything, we suggest you contact your state tax agency.

You have to first make sure your 2020 return was accepted in TurboTax Online or paper-filed through the mail.
