Yes, it is possible to file your 2017 and 2018 income tax returns.

First, each year must be filed separately. Second, you cannot e-file your returns, they must be mailed in. And third, you must purchase and download the TurboTax software for PC or Mac as TurboTax Online and the mobile app are only available for the current tax year.

Is it possible to get a free download to do previous taxes i understand i have to mail them in i just can't afford anymore out of pocket expenses

Unfortunately, the free file version of TurboTax is only available for the current year. Therefore, to file any previous years' taxes, you will need to purchase that year's product.
