Also, it's a little annoying that it is not on their list of forms not yet available.

It used to be.

Thats how I got the date for 2/12

They are trying to pull a fast one.

I'm about to look for and use a different service.

It first had an availability date of 2/5/20, then 2/12/20, now it's no longer listed on the website. What's going on with this form? Why is it not being made available?

The date when the form would be available for e-file from the IRS has been pushed back. (see: List of available IRS e-file forms.)

We will provide an update as soon as we are able to do so.

Especially when that's where it redirects us from the Energy efficient page when using TurboTax.

It's very confusing when it randomly gets removed from the main page where TurboTax users are keeping track of it for weeks now. Many posts considered switching services just because of this confusion.

I appreciate the update. I notified the specialist on the call with me on your post as he was also having a difficult time gathering this information.

Yes, Today is 2/12/2020. On my Turbo Tax form 8936 (Copy 1) it still says "Do not file Copy 1". When I go to the Federal Individual Forms Availability link I don't even find the form 8936 listed. It previously showed an availability date of 2/12/2020

I just checked the IRS website and they have posted the new availability date as the 14th. https://www.irs.gov/e-file-providers/list-of-available-free-file-fillable-forms

I noticed form 8936 disappeared from the Turbotax ios/web calendlar for upcoming form release dates. Can it please be re-added ??

We were told it was 2/5, then 2/12, now another change. Inquiring minds want to be kept apprised.

I saw a similar community tax expert mention Form 8936 and the Energy-efficient section as a whole is pending with the following forms:

Form 8910: Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit (Turbo Tax Date: 2/20 | IRS Date: 2/14)
Form 8911: Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit (Turbo Tax Date: 2/20 | IRS Date: TBD)

Does that mean 8936 will not be available until the forms above are? Date 2/20 or TBD since 8911 is TBD on the IRS page?
