It must match the EXACT information you used in your most recent return you’ve filed. Have you moved since then? Is your filing status different now?

Has your efiled Federal return been accepted? If so, you have to wait 24 hours after acceptance before using the WMR tool.

When entering your amount, be sure to enter only the Federal amount and not any total refund amount that includes a state refund. Look at your actual return. The figure to enter is on your Federal Form 1040, Line 21a.

And if you chose to pay any fees out of your Federal refund, use the Federal amount before any fees are to be taken out.

@ bgpwc wrote:

Everything matches! Still says it doesn't.

You didn't provide any details in your comment, so we don't even know how you filed. For instance, if you printed and filed by mail, it will take about 4 weeks for any info to show up at the WMR tool.

If you efiled your return:

If everything's being entered correctly at the IRS WMR tool, there aren't any additional tricks. If you used Online TurboTax, and as long as you have confirmed at the Tax Home in your Online TurboTax account that your efile has been accepted by the IRS, and that you have waited at least 24 hours after acceptance before trying the tool, then all you can do is keep checking the IRS WMR occasionally.

Be sure at the WMR tool you enter the correct SSN, filing status, and the Federal refund amount shown on your Form 1040, Line 21a. If you haven't already, you should look at the actual return to verify the figure.

Be sure you're not using a total refund figure that includes any state refund.

After 21 days from acceptance, if you're still not seeing any info, you can phone the IRS and speak to an agent. It's too early to contact them now. In the first 21 days, they say they can't research the status of your refund and tell you anything different.

In the meantime, if you wish, you could try phoning the IRS refund hotline and see if it can look you up over the phone in their automated system, but you may get the same result. Listen to all of the recorded message, then it will allow you to check the automated system. 800-829-1954
