Hi so I recently purchase the home and business , can I e file more than the 5?included if we pay for them? We are a big family and trying to save some money staring to file taxes our self. Thank you

You cannot e-file more than five federal returns--there is no getting around that . It is an IRS limit. But you can print, sign and mail the returns for the other family members.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Home & Business 2019 (CD loaded on computer)

This is not for efile, But I understand one is allowed 5 efiles, for Federal Return, correct?

And I can paper mail more copies than that. Correct?

What about the Massachusetts (or any state) return? How many allowed with my copy of Turbo Tax H & B.?

I ask because when you begin the State return, you are informed that the Turbo allows one State Return with Turbo Tax. I didn't understand that.

If a second family member wantss to create their return in this TT software after someone else, can they create a State Return, too? (I know they can create the federal return)

You get the software for one specific state, and since you cannot e-file a state return unless the federal return has been e-filed, you cannot e-file more than five state returns. Again---more can be prepared and printed, signed, and mailed.

Be aware that although you have the software to prepare the MA returns--there is a fee to e-file state returns--they cost $24.99 each to e-file. You can avoid the state e-file fee if you just print and mail them.

That clarifies it.

The State thing is tricky. So you receive one State to create return, and more than one member can file their State return with the same State (in my case, Massachusetts).

Not sure we're efiling any, but your reply is the answer.

Yes--you've got it. And....if anyone has to file a return for some other state--that additional state software costs about $45.
