Is there a way for someone to review my taxes to be sure it is correct? Does this cost extra?

Yes - You can request an Offline Review. In an Offline Review a tax expert reviews part of your return and provides you with a written response. For more information, please click on this link: What is an Offline Review and how do I get one?

Sorry, The LIVE feature is only available for personal returns using the Online version and not the Desktop programs.

If you buy the Desktop CD/Download program it doesn’t have access to the Live CPA support. Only the Online versions have Live support. See the Note at the bottom of this

If you want the LIVE expert help and review you need to use the Online version. You can't apply the Desktop CD/Download purchase to Online. You have to pay for Online separately. You will have to get a refund for the Desktop program. Then you can use the Online web version. You will have to start your return over in the Online version.

VolvoGirl, I do not have the live version and I do not want the live version. I want the desktop version and I want help to select the adequate version without overpaying.

@ac-control You are posting to an old thread. If you are going to use the desktop software you can use any version since all of the versions of desktop software provide all of the forms and schedules. The more expensive versions provide extra help as you enter your data. You can start with the least expensive and upgrade if you need more help as you go. Deluxe is the cheapest CD/download. If you purchase it from a retailer you can get it either with or without state software, so choose according to your needs.

This thread began with someone asking about getting a live review---that is only a feature available to users of online software who use TurboTax Live. Users of desktop software cannot get a live review from a CPA, bur can ask questions in this forum or talk to customer support.

When you use desktop software, there is an additional fee to e-file a state return. You can avoid that fee if you print, sign and mail the state return. The state e-file fee is $19.99 and increases in March.
