Starting 2019 Taxes

Last year was my first time filing my taxes online and I used Turbo Tax. I have Turbo Tax 2018 installed on my computer, so how do I start my 2019 tax return? When I try to start a new return, it looks like it is trying to start the 2018 return. Even when it is searching for a previous return, it is looking for tax2017. Do I have to buy the Turbo ax software every year in order to continue to do my taxes this way? I thought it would just update with the new forms every year like other software products on my computer.

Each tax year is a separate TurboTax program. The tax code changes drastically from year to year.

I filled out information to start 2019 but have not been able to find I keep doing a lot of e same thing over and over but i'm getting very angry. I was using Credit Karma tax I had recommended it to a friend and then told her was switching but know?
