You should file jointly with your spouse even if one spouse had no income.&amp;nbsp; You will get two exemptions, which is the same as a dependent for tax purposes.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Uncheck the box&lt;SPAN&gt;that someone is claiming you. Once you change to Married Filing Jointly, the two of you shouldn't have a problem claiming your child as a dependent. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;
