      <description>&lt;P&gt;If you had too much SS withheld then it will be added to your refund.&amp;nbsp; Remember that you must enter each of your W-2's under your OWN names in the software, so that you do not artificially inflate your refund.&amp;nbsp; If you do that, you will get a letter from the IRS in a year or two, demanding that you pay back the refund with interest.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;For 2019 the maximum amount PER PERSON for SS is $8239.80.&amp;nbsp; If either of you has more than that total amount for your W-2's in box 4, then you would be refunded.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Most commonly this would happen if you had more than one employer.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;But be careful--if you file a joint return you must make sure you are not entering all of the income and W-2 data under only one of your names.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
