Hello, I’m leaving the USA (non resident Alien) and need to fill my 1040 form from Ukraine. I wanted to put my previous address in the USA in it or my friend’s address, because I know that I overpaid, but it is impossible to cash check in Ukraine. Could I ? Or should I put only my Ukrainian address if I’m in Ukraine.

You can enter any address where you can receive mail legally ... however if the check is in the US how can you cash it from there ? You may not be able to cash a check there however you should be able to deposit it until it clears ... check with the local bank.

Thank you! But it is said on the form PRESENT address.. and nothing else for mailing address..only PO Box option. So could I put the USA address in PRESENT address even if I’m no longer in the USA?
