If you have already filed, you can submit an amended return to change your address. Please follow the steps below.

To File an Amended Return:

1. Wait for your return to be accepted or rejected by the IRS

2. Log into your account, and at your tax timeline select your "2016 Tax Year"

3. Select to "Amend (Change) 2016 return" and follow the directions

NOTE: The IRS will start accepting amended returns in mid-February, please check back then to amend.

If you have already filed your tax return with an old address (or moved after filing), don't amend your return to change your address with the IRS.

Use IRS Form 8822, Change of Address (form and instructions) to notify the IRS of an address change.
