All compensation received is reportable on your tax return. How it's reported on your tax return depends on how it's reported to you by the by the employer. Maybe it's included as income on the W-2? Or maybe it's reported as a scholarship in box 5 of the 1098-T? There are other ways it can be reported to you also. How it's reported, matters.
