When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?

https://www.irs.gov/refunds Or does your account say “Ready to Mail?”

Thanks for responding.

Yes. I did not get any emails per Fri. Aug. 16 attempt. The status says, I did not e-file.

I attempted yesterday Aug. 19th. Today there are not email responses and the status says "I have not efiled."

Did you use this procedure to e-file the tax return?

You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "Transmit my returns now".

After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.

What does the TurboTax website indicate for the status of the e-filed tax return?

Check the status of your e-file via Turbo Tax.

If it replies "you have not e-filed a tax return,"

go to Settings in your browser.

Click to "turn off" the pop-up blocker.

Proceed in TurboTax to e-file your return.

Your tax return is transmitted(e-filed) only after your hit

"Transmit Your Returns." Happy e-filing!!!!!

Can't tell if you finally got it efiled. If not and it thinks you have to print and mail it.....
